Information Audits

Conducting an information audit is the logical starting point for many research programs. A comprehensive review of relevant materials with an evaluation from the client's perspective provides the client and research program with a solid foundation from which to build. An information audit would include a binder with all the research materials used and a summary and analysis of relevant research with an executive summary of findings.

Focus Groups

Engage Strategic is experienced conducting focus groups to identify issues, opportunities and themes. Focus groups are very helpful for exploring issues, evaluating specific aspects of concepts and development plans, fine-tuning communications and strategic planning. Focus groups involve recruiting 10 to 12 people to participate in an approximately 2-hour discussion.

Engage Strategic typically holds focus groups at a partner's focus group facility, which is a 600 square foot state of the art facility with a 450 square foot client viewing room located in downtown Calgary. The facility includes a 42 inch plasma TV and 62 inch SMART Board. Groups would include video and audio taping of the discussion.

Quantitative Studies

  • Online surveys are fast becoming the industry standard for quantitative research and are Engage Strategic's preferred quantitative tool. With an increasingly mobile population relying on technology the research industry had to adapt in order reach people on their terms. Online surveys have proven extremely valuable and reliable for numerous reasons including flexibility for respondents, cost efficiencies, access to target market segments and panels, seamless real time reporting and security. A typical survey takes 5-15 minutes to complete and would provide our client with in-depth knowledge from the target market, identify key opportunities, issues, threats, decision drivers and segmentation profiles.


  • Telephone surveys are very effective for gauging broad public opinion, especially when informing public policy or community outreach is required. Costs for a custom telephone survey depend on the number of interviews and the length of the survey. Our service includes questionnaire design, sample purchase, testing, data collection, data cleaning and analysis, and reporting, and of course strategy consultation.

In-depth Exploration Interviews

In-depth interviews (IDIs) provide access to information not easily achieved in an information audit. IDIs can also act as a starting point for more comprehensive research if the business environment is well known. Engage Strategic would use our contacts to identify the key people with the most insight into issues affecting your business or industry. Interviewing a cross section of influencers will provide thoughts, perceptions, themes, opportunities and possible impediments and drawbacks to your business and provide the client with the knowledge to make informed decisions.
